Hemp was used 5000 years ago – now it has been rediscovered
CBD/Hemp has been rediscovered. Without the psychoactive constituent THC, hemp has so many positive properties that it has been called the new superfood.
Everyone can experience how hemp tea and hemp tea blends work, how they help us and what they taste like. Also, what it is necessary to take into account when buying it and the errors that it is necessary to avoid during its preparation…
Hemp has always been used in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) against a variety of ailments. The medicine is increasingly recognising its potential. As a result, hemp is used more and more often and is prescribed by doctors. Hemp products (without THC) are legal, freely accessible and sold in pharmacies, speciality shops and online shops. Hemp tea is drunk more and more frequently, because hemp tea and/or hemp tea blends help against the diseases of today’s civilization: stress, restlessness, sleep problems and digestive problems.

Relax and find peace through hemp tea
Hemp soothes the human nervous system and helps to cope with stress and tension. In addition, hemp tea can brighten the mood of people who tend to have negative thoughts or suffer from anxiety.
The hemp tea as an aid to fall asleep and sleep on the flip
Relaxation and peace promote a natural sleep. Hemp makes it easier to fall asleep and have a long, continuous sleep. Hemp tea has decisive advantages over alcohol: there is no hangover, no dizziness and other side effects. After a hemp tea you fall asleep faster, go deeper and wake up rested and fresh. Reinforced in this way, anyone can face problems better. This in turn leads to better sleep, more rest and greater self-confidence.
Hemp tea for the immune system and self-healing powers
Hemp is also known for stimulating the natural defensive and self-healing powers of the human body. This is one reason why hemp products like hemp tea are prescribed and recommended after an illness and operations. And still another positive effect: Hemp promotes the appetite. For these reasons Hemp is used more and more often as a natural remedy.
Hemp tea strengthens digestion
A functioning digestion and a healthy stomach and intestines are important simply because the nutrients for the whole body and the brain are prepared and metabolized in the intestines. Hemp tea and special hemp tea mixtures stimulate the stomach and at the same time have a relaxing effect. A relaxed stomach does not ‘digest itself’ and is the best natural prevention against nausea.
Tension or relaxation? Depending on hemp tea mixture
As versatile as hemp is, so flexible can hemp be combined. Combinations with traditional teas are just as possible as with numerous herbs. With its certain finesse, hemp rounds off the aroma and adds volume to the tea mixture.
When combined with mate, hemp can loosen up and be stimulating. In combination with chamomile it can be relaxing, calming and a pleasant, tasty sleeping drink.
These characteristics and the multiple possibilities of the combinations are the reasons why hemp is nowadays called Superfood.
Four important tips for the preparation of hemp tea and hemp tea mixtures
Hemp tea and hemp tea blends can be prepared like normal tea – even in a modern Tea Infuser . Only one material is not advisable.
1. Soft water makes hemp tea more intense
Hemp likes soft water. Like particularly goods and exclusive teas, hemp tea needs soft water to develop its full flavour.
2. Hemp tea – rule of thumb for infusion and infusion time
Hemp tea and hemp tea blends are generally infused at about 80 degrees. The infusion time of hemp tea ranges from 2 to 5 minutes, depending on the taste. The longer, the more bitter. Special hemp tea blends (e.g. with black Assam tea) are infused with hotter water (100 degrees), which usually shortens the brewing time.
3. Hemp and metal are not compatible
The good old porcelain teapot is recommended for preparation. Metal jugs should be used for other purposes. The only exception: teapots or tea users made of high-quality stainless steel (18/8).
The use of a tea egg or a metal tea tong is not recommended. In addition to the metal material, the rather large hemp leaves do not spread in the small round cages and cannot fully develop their aroma or effect.
4. Hemp tea wants and needs fat
Many ingredients in hemp are water soluble and pass into the tea. However, some active ingredients are only fat-soluble. In order to achieve the full effect and aroma of a hemp tea or a hemp tea mixture, it is advisable to drink a little milk, a few drops of oil or a glass of water before the infusion. This is the only way to get all good, healthy and tasty active substances of the hemp leaves into the hemp tea.
What to look out for when buying a hemp tea and a mixture of hemp tea
Good hemp tea and hemp tea mixtures are not everywhere. Be sure to pay attention
to 100 % organic and organic certification.
Useful, edible hemp, grown for fibre or also called agricultural hemp, may only contain a THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) content of not more than 0,2 %. This completely excludes the possibility that useful hemp may have an intoxicating effect – even if one were to drink vast quantities of hemp tea.
The cultivation in Germany and many European countries is absolutely legal and legally compliant. The farms are specially registered for hemp cultivation and are regularly inspected. Here every hemp tea connoisseur is on the safe side.
Pay attention to the German organic certification.
High qualitative and ecological standards apply in the EU states and in Germany in particular. When buying hemp tea, it is essential to pay attention to the organic certification of the hemp tea or the hemp tea mixture. Only then can the buyer and connoisseur be sure that he really purchases pure organic hemp.
In the case of products that are not planted or produced in Europe or are not certified organic, it is possible that there is a considerable health risk due to contaminated soil or improper fertilisation, spraying agents, pesticides or various additives, etc. Such a risk must of course be rejected from the outset.
